"Be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble"

Chaplains have long played a vital role in society, offering care and support in schools, the military, hospitals, and during times of crisis. Their ability to listen without judgement, respect all beliefs, and provide compassionate care, makes chaplaincy a powerful way to serve the community. Currently our chaplain spends most of his time at Frank Baxter Juvenile Justice Centre.

At A New Way Services INC, we are committed to exploring new approaches to chaplaincy that are inclusive, respectful, and accessible to all.
Our Chaplain

Our community chaplain, Evan Lawrie, is down to earth and prioritises genuine connection. He is motivated by his faith, his passion for young people, and his love for music.
Evan has an advanced diploma in biblical studies & draws on his experience as a minister, and his 10+ years as a secular youth worker.

Evan's role is essential to A New Way and he is loved by our community, whether he is hosting an Open Mic Night, serving the homeless, visiting juvenile justice centres, or running a bible study.
